Our Fleet

Our fleet

We operate a modern, well maintained, fleet of sail training vessels

One of these is a Challenge 72′ ocean-going racing yacht, and the second is an Oyster 70′.

Our Challenge 72, Alba Explorer, has successfully circumnavigated the world, sailing the ‘wrong way round’ in the world’s toughest yacht race – the BT Global Challenge. It was specifically designed to be strong, safe and seaworthy in even the most demanding conditions.

Our Oyster 70, Alba Venturer is an equally well found vessel. Built especially for Ocean Youth Trust Scotland, she is an easily handled boat that has proven herself to be well suited to sail training – ideal for first time sailors.

Each boat can accommodate 6 Sea Staff and 12 crew members.

Our boats sail from March till November each year, and undergo a comprehensive refit at the end of each sailing season. Click here for details of our sailing area.

Each boat carries a full complement of safety equipment, they are inspected and certified by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and are required to meet stringent safety and maintenance standards.
