Get to know the OYT Scotland Volunteers! ⛵

While Coronavirus may have put a temporary stop to our youth work sailing calendar, our volunteers never stop flying the flag for OYT Scotland. So, in a bid to showcase what being a volunteer for OYT Scotland means to them, we will put the spotlight on a different volunteer each day. We hope you enjoy meeting our hugely valued volunteers!

Name: Polly Ferrari

🔹 Q: How long have you been a volunteer with OYTS and what is your role as a volunteer?

A: I’ve been a volunteer for just over a year and I sail as a Bosun

🔸 Q: What and with whom was your first sailing experience and what made you come back for more?

A: I started sailing on sailing dinghies and I came back for more because I loved being out on the water!

⛵ Q: Proudest or most memorable sailing moment?

A: My most memorable sailing moment was being on the 2019 Young Leaders Development Programme voyage to Ireland.

🌊Q: What is your favourite part of being a volunteer with OYT Scotland?

A: My favourite part of volunteering with OYT Scotland is the youthwork, but also being able to sail such lovely boats!

⛵ Q: If you were to be a boat, what kind of boat would it be and why?

A: I’d probably be some kind of sailing dinghy as those are the boats I learnt to sail on.
