The start of the season is fast approaching and we’re nearing the end of our refit. Alba Venturer has remained in the water for most of this, but a lot of work has gone on since the 2017 sailing season finished.
The team have been hard at work:
- Sanding the copper coat
- Painting the anchor chain
- Replacing the heads pipes
- Replacing the black water tank pipes
- Replacing the plumbing under the sink in the galley
- Fitting 2 new hatches in the saloon
- Replacing wire in the davit
- Insulating the aft cabin
- Painting the saloon
- Fitting a new mizzen sail
- Repairing the spray hood with new perspex
- Replacing 6 of the engine injectors
- Routine service of the engine and generators
- Varnishing in the saloon
After her final survey next week she’ll be ready to sail for another season and we’re looking forward to welcoming our volunteers on board in 2018!
