Glenalmond College had a fantastic voyage sailing on Alba Venturer last week. The group leaders commented on the group’s experience:
“It was amazing to see some individuals emerged as leaders. These young people were not the ones who would naturally emerge as leaders in the school environment (e.g. they are not necessarily the strongest academically or on the sports field). If it wasn’t for experiences such as this voyage, their leadership qualities might go unnoticed.”
OYT Scotland’s voyages and voyage syllabus are designed to build young people’s confidence, respect, responsibility, and their ability to work in teams & to learn from experience. The group leaders confirmed that “stepping aboard and experiencing adventure under sail achieves more in a week at sea than an entire year at school could.”
