Jack stays ahead of the fleet

OYT Scotland cadet Alex Jack is today swapping his deck shoes for his running shoes when he takes part in the 2014 Queen’s Baton Relay to commemorate the XX Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow at the end of the month. He was nominated to represent Inverclyde due to his volunteering commitments with the trust.

This year Alex has sailed on 15 youth voyages, sailing over 3,000 nautical miles, as a volunteer cadet and has already passed his First Mate’s assessment with flying colours. OYT Scotland nominated him to take part in the 2014 Queen’s Baton Relay for his dedication to sail training, and his contagious enthusiasm for working with young people.
