Skippers Online supporting OYT Scotland

Online RYA training course provider, Skippers Online, has chosen Ocean Youth Trust Scotland as its nominated charity of the year. Clients will be invited to add a £10 donation when booking one of the company’s highly coveted RYA online training courses, with each donation matched by Skippers Online.

Founded in 2008, Glasgow based Skippers Online offers online training courses for the entire RYA Day Skipper and Yachtmaster syllabus with the goal of delivering the best possible training products to enable students to study for and pass their RYA examinations.

More than 120 RYA Training Centres sell Skippers Online courses to their students to make sure that they are as well prepared for their practical training courses as possible. They have trained more than 9,500 students in 85 countries and are continually working to ensure their online RYA theory courses are the best available.

Iain Barbour, who is managing director of Skippers online, Yachtmaster Instructor and long term volunteer Skipper for Ocean Youth Trust Scotland, commented: “We’re delighted to support Ocean Youth Trust Scotland through our own corporate giving and through the generous support of our valued customers. Sailing has the unique ability to empower and enable young people to reach their full potential and no one understands that more than our customers.

“I hope our support will go some way to providing life-changing youth work voyages at sea for young people who need it most.”
