Castlebay Ahoy!
The St. Kilda Challenge crew arrived in Castlebay, on the island of Barra (in the Outer Hebrides) Tuesday evening about 8 pm. The voyage across the Minch went well, and one watch caught sight of a minke whale. All crew are in high spirits, feeling well and settling into boat life.
The plan is to head off Wednesday lunch time but discussions were still being held as to when and which route they will take. With winds predicted to drop off as the week progressing, they may very well head north along the outer Hebrides, cutting through the Lewis sound and out to St Kilda.
