St. Kilda Charity Challenge – Update 3

Alba Endeavour Arrives in Village Bay

After yesterday’s discussion about whether to proceed on to St Kilda, Alba Endeavour headed south down the Minch in strong northerly winds. Turning north out to the Atlantic, they headed towards St Kilda overnight. “It was a very cold and long passage” said Tom Charnley, crew member, “but we dropped anchor about 7 am in Village Bay. The sun is shining this morning and we have had a bit of a rest and we are now making plans to go ashore.” The sea staff will assess if it is safe to take the dingy onto St Kilda – there is quite a swell from the winds earlier in the week.

We will be waiting with anticipation to hear if they have made landfall – but well done to the crew for their difficult passage!
