Young Volunteers Accept Royal Award on behalf of the Trust

Chair and CEO of OYT Scotland stand with two young volunteers who hold the Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Volunteering Award. Standing with the group is Sir Martyn Lewis, Chair of the KAVS.

On 28th November, we formally received our Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Volunteering Award in The Fishmonger’s Hall, London.

Created to mark the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, this prestigious award recognises 20 national charities whose work empowers young people aged 16-25, and whose work relies on volunteer support.

The Princess Royal presented the certificates and two of our young volunteers, Joe and Fay, accepted the award on behalf of Ocean Youth Trust Scotland.

Joe said: “It was absolutely amazing to be chosen by OYT Scotland to receive the award down in London, and it was so great for the Trust to be recognised like this.”

Thank you to our base of more than 200 volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to providing life-changing youth work on the waves. Without you, we simply wouldn’t be where we are today!
